About

The Store

Willow Point Books was established in 1991 by Holly Gordon with about 5,000 books and less square feet. Twenty-eight years later, the store has moved locations, gained about 35,000 more books and even less square feet. It is a generalist bookstore that sells new and used books along with gift merchandise including: journals, greeting cards, puzzles, calendars, colouring books, paper stationary and more. We provide services that include fax and photocopying, gift certificates and special orders.

The Owner

Welcome to my store! I’m Leah, Virgo, Ravenclaw, INTJ, and book collector extraordinaire. Born and raised in Campbell River, Carihi grad, NIC, UVic and University of York, UK alumna with a background in Medieval Studies and Anthropology/Archaeology. I worked at the NIC Campbell River and Comox campuses as a student librarian and I worked at Bolen Books, Victoria in its magazine department. I was Holly’s customer for years and was thrilled and humbled when she asked me to continue her legacy.

The Dog

Hi! I’m Friday! I’m excited about everything! I love peoples and I love dogs and I love working with mum at the bookstore. I will greet you with bum wiggles and wet kisses and bring you my favourite toys to play tug with me. Ignore the books, I’m the reason you are here.

Trade-In Policy

We give a 25% credit off the original Canadian price of the book.

We do NOT accept books if:

  1. we have too many copies;
  2. the books are Harlequins or Silhouettes;
  3. the books are hard-cover fiction;
  4. the books are torn and tattered, smell musty and/or water damaged

The above applies whether or not you purchased the books at our store. Credits may be used towards the purchase of any used book on a half cash, half credit basis, provided the book does not have a “no book credits” sticker on it.

Example:

  • Original Price $10.00
  • Our Price $5.00
  • Your credit $2.50
  • You pay $2.50 + GST

In other words, you pay 25% of the original price if you have credits.
